NBA Players Born on Oct. 10

Gus Williams leads the pack among NBA players born on October 10 with a pair of All-Star appearances to his credit.
Gus Williams (Oct. 10, 1953)
The 11-year veteran was a multi-time All-Star who spent time with the Warriors, SuperSonics, Bullets and Hawks. Williams was the runner-up in Rookie of the Year voting in 1975 and averaged 11.7 points per game that season. He finished his career averaging 17.1 points per game and 5.6 assists per game.
Derrick McKey (Oct. 10, 1966)
A longtime Seattle Sonics and Indiana Pacers standout, McKey was most well-known for his defensive prowess. He averaged 1.1 steals per game and was twice named to the NBA’s All-Defensive Second Team in the 1994-95 and 1995-96 seasons. McKey was drafted ahead of Reggie Miller and Horace Grant in 1987.
Michael Carter-Williams (Oct. 10, 1991)
Carter-Williams’ NBA days appear to be over, but he was an impactful player for a decade. Carter-Williams won Rookie of the Year in 2014 as a member of the 76ers and bounced around the league from there as he played with six teams. His longest stint came with the Orlando Magic, but later in his career he never quite replicated the success he had as a rookie when he averaged career-highs in points per game (16.7), rebounds per game (6.2), and steals per game (1.9).
Josh Giddey (Oct. 10, 2002)
The only active player born on Oct. 10, Giddey is coming into his own. The Australian native spent the first years of his career in Oklahoma City, averaging 13.9 points over 210 starts. Giddey has a career eFG% of 50.4% and is a solid rebounder (7.3 rpg). He was dealt to Chicago in exchange for Alex Caruso this offseason and now he is set to run point for a new rotation alongside Coby White and Zach LaVine.
Rod Foster (Oct. 10, 1960)
Foster starred at UCLA before being selected in the second round of the 1983 NBA Draft. He notably shot 95 percent from the free throw line during the 1982 season while with the Bruins. Foster tragically had his career cut short by a car accident in his third season.
Joel Przybilla (Oct. 10, 1979)
Don Henriksen (Oct. 10,1929)
Kenny Battle (Oct. 10, 1964)
Reggie Carter (Oct. 10, 1957)
